Maintenance Technician – Utilities
Are you an maintenance technician who enjoys working with a wide range of technical installations rather than maintaining the same production machine every day? For one of the largest manufacturers and distributors in the pharmaceutical industry, we are looking for a Maintenance Technician Utilities. In this position, you are responsible for the technical systems that keep an entire pharmaceutical site operational. From HVAC and refrigeration to compressed air, chilled water and boilers: without these installations, production simply cannot continue.

About the role
As a Maintenance Technician Utilities, you are responsible for maintaining the critical technical infrastructure that supports the manufacturing areas, warehouses and offices across the distribution site. Instead of focusing on one production line, you work with a broad range of utility systems. This includes HVAC installations, refrigeration systems, compressed air, chilled water systems, boilers and building automation systems.
Your work consists of preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance. When a technical problem occurs, you investigate the failure, determine its cause and make sure the installation is safely and correctly returned to operation. Because the utility systems contain different technologies, your work isn't limited to one discipline. You will encounter mechanical, electrical and control-related issues, which makes this an interesting position for someone with broad technical experience.
You also work closely with colleagues, external contractors and suppliers when more complex technical problems need to be solved. At the same time, you contribute to reliability improvements and continuous improvement projects to make the installations more efficient and dependable. Although this is not a traditional shift position, you will participate in an on-call rotation for critical utility systems. These installations are essential to the site, so technical support must also be available when an urgent issue occurs outside normal working hours.
What you bring
You have an MBO-level technical education and you already have experience within maintenance, utilities, facilities or industrial installations and are comfortable independently troubleshooting technical problems. Your background could be mechanical, electrical or more broadly focused on industrial maintenance. Experience with systems such as HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, electrical installations, mechanical installations or process utilities is particularly relevant.
You don't necessarily need experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience within a GMP environment is considered an advantage, as is experience with SAP PM or another CMMS maintenance system.
Most importantly, you are technically curious, hands-on and capable of looking beyond the immediate failure. You want to understand what caused a problem and how it can be prevented in the future. Good communication skills in English are required, and you are willing to participate in the on-call rotation
