Maintenance Technician Mechanical Engineering (WTB)

The role

As a Maintenance Technician Mechanical, you are responsible for maintaining and improving mechanical systems and installations. You perform preventive and corrective maintenance and support troubleshooting to ensure continuous and safe production. You work independently and coordinate external contractors when needed, ensuring all activities meet safety and quality standards.

You execute planned preventive maintenance according to schedule and inspect the condition of equipment to identify potential issues at an early stage. Based on your findings, you perform corrective maintenance and ensure all maintenance activities and observations are accurately reported. In case of malfunctions, you identify mechanical faults, determine root causes, and dismantle or inspect equipment where necessary. You carry out repairs in coordination with production and planning, ensuring breakdowns are resolved quickly and effectively. You are responsible for performing modification and overhaul activities based on work orders and contribute by proposing improvements to optimize installations and processes. You also support the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Within your role, you coordinate and supervise external contractors, provide technical support and guidance to colleagues, and ensure all work complies with company standards and procedures.

You maintain tools and equipment in a safe and operational condition and identify when replacements or improvements are required. Finally, you work according to strict HSEQ standards, report incidents and unsafe situations, and actively contribute to continuous improvement in safety, working conditions, and processes.

What you bring

You have experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment and possess strong problem-solving and technical skills. You are able to work independently while also coordinating external parties when required. You have a strong awareness of safety standards within production environments and communicate effectively in English, with knowledge of Afrikaans or Dutch being an advantage. Experience within the chemical industry or heavy industrial production sites is considered a plus.

What you get

• Monthly salary: €3.600 – €5,700;
• 8% holiday allowance;

• €0.21 net per kilometer (up to 60 km per day);
