About the role
As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for keeping TGW's automated systems technically available and reliable. Together with your colleagues, you solve technical failures, perform maintenance and make sure the installation can continue operating safely.
Your work is broad. A failure can be mechanical, electrical or software-related, which means you need to look beyond just one technical discipline. You trace the fault, analyse what caused it and determine how the problem can be solved efficiently.
One moment you could be replacing a broken roller or bearing on a conveyor system, while the next you are tracing an electrical fault in a panel or investigating a problem within the network. Rather than simply resetting an installation, you look for the underlying cause to help prevent the same failure from happening again.
Preventive maintenance is therefore an important part of the position as well. By inspecting and maintaining the systems properly, you help increase the reliability and availability of the entire installation.
You will also attend meetings with Picnic's operational team. Because you work permanently at the customer's location, you represent TGW on site and play an important role in maintaining a strong working relationship with the customer.
What you bring
What you bring
You have at least an MBO-2 level technical diploma or a comparable technical qualification and have a general understanding of mechanics, electrical engineering and control technology.
You already have practical experience with service and maintenance work on electrical and mechanical systems. You don't have to be a specialist in every technical discipline. What matters is that you have a good technical foundation, enjoy troubleshooting and are willing to continue learning.
You can work effectively when time matters and understand that technical failures within an automated distribution centre sometimes need to be solved quickly. At the same time, you continue to work safely and accurately.
You enjoy working as part of a technical team, share your knowledge with colleagues and aren't afraid to ask questions when you encounter something new. A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and creativity in finding technical solutions are important in this role.
