Maintenance Engineer – Automated Logistics
Do you enjoy working in an environment where mechanics, electrical engineering and automation come together? And are you the technician who wants to understand why an automated system stops instead of simply resetting it and moving on?
As a Maintenance Engineer at TGW Logistics, you will work at one of the most highly automated distribution centres in the Netherlands. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for keeping a large and complex intralogistics system running 24/7.

About the role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you and your colleagues are responsible for the technical availability and reliability of the complete automated logistics system.
Your work is a combination of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and industrial automation. When a technical failure occurs, you trace the problem, analyse the root cause and determine the best solution to get the installation safely back into operation.
That could mean replacing a bearing or roller on a conveyor one moment and troubleshooting an electrical, network or control-system failure the next. You will work with sensors, scanners, frequency drives, position measurement systems, camera systems and PLC-controlled equipment.
But this position is not just about responding to breakdowns. You will also perform preventive maintenance and actively look for ways to improve the installation. Together with your colleagues, you analyse recurring failures and implement improvements to increase availability, reliability and efficiency.
Because you work permanently at the customer's site, you are also an important representative of TGW. You work closely with Picnic's operators and technical teams and participate in operational meetings. Building a strong working relationship with the customer is therefore an important part of your role.
What you bring
You have a technical background in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or a comparable field and have practical experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial machinery.
You don't need to be a specialist in every discipline, but you should have a broad technical foundation. You understand both mechanical and electrical systems and are comfortable troubleshooting automated installations.
You enjoy solving technical problems, work well within a team and are proactive when you see opportunities for improvement. You are also comfortable communicating with both colleagues and the customer on site.
TGW requires at least an MBO-3 level engineering qualification. If your main qualification is not electrical, an electrical qualification at MBO-2 level is required. Good command of English is also part of the original job requirements.
